Ravio announced that it has removed Angry Birds from the Google Play Store and kept the iOS version. The game became very popular at one point, and many entertainment products, such as films and others, have been inspired by it.

Rovio announced it will remove the Android version of Angry Birds and rebrand it as the iOS version, claiming the game influences the success of its other games. The publisher removed several games of the aforementioned title, including the original 2009 version, from app stores in 2019, claiming they were for "testing purposes."

The original title was relaunched in April 2022 under the name Rovio Classics: Angry Birds. Less than a year after bringing the game back, the studio is reviving it again. While the Android version has been completely removed, the iOS version has been renamed Red's First Flight, a move that appears to have made it harder to recognize as the mysterious bird game we know. The company issued an official statement saying the following:

We have reviewed the operational status of Rovio Classics: Angry Birds and, due to the game's impact on our broader game portfolio, we have determined that Rovio Classics: Angry Birds will not be listed on the Google Play Store on Thursday, February 23rd. Additionally, the game will be renamed to Red's First Flight on the iOS App Store.

The game will remain playable on the devices it was downloaded to, even after being removed from the list. The team said they understand this is sad news for many fans, as well as for the team that worked hard on this. They generally apologize for such a sudden decision.
