The new PS5 update #7.00 is now available to download and we've shared its most important features with you, but there's one new feature that Sony surprised us with and many are starting to talk about it now.

This feature is the ability to update your DualSense controller remotely. Yes, you don't need to connect your console with a USB cable to your PS5 to update it. Instead, the system will prompt you to agree to the update and will automatically update your remote console.

And the PlayStation Blog stated in a statement that the following new system update has been provided:

DualSense Wireless Controller Wireless System Update: You can now update your DualSense wireless controller software wirelessly. If you’re having trouble updating your controller software wirelessly, connect your console to your PS5 console using a USB cable to update it. You’ll then be able to update wirelessly to the next update.

As you can see from the description above, some users may find it difficult to use this feature for the first time and this may require them to connect the unit to the PS5 with the cable. Later, however, the problem will not recur and it will be possible to update it remotely.

Additionally, if the DualSense controller's battery is not sufficiently charged, you will receive a message when updating the system stating that the update process is not complete and that you will need to connect it with a USB cable to complete the update process.

While the ability to update your console wirelessly isn't a big deal, it's an important step, especially since it will save you the hassle of having to connect your console with a USB cable every time your system updates.
