After trying out the Forspoken demo... in this case, it doesn't deserve to be called a next-gen game.

We've seen plenty of teasers and announcements for Square Enix's PlayStation 5 exclusive Forspoken exclusively for the home console version. But hasn't it occurred to you that Sony didn't seem to care or pay much attention to it, or at least it didn't get the fanfare that other exclusives have?

First, let's meet the game's developer, Square Enix's Luminous Productions studio, who previously worked on the development of Final Fantasy XV, which was released in 2016 and was a great success. Although it doesn't look promising for its next title, an action RPG that tells the story of the journey of Frey, a young New Yorker who moves to the beautiful and rugged land of Atheia.

After our experience with the demo game, and I am fully aware that it is only a test version still in the development phase, the game surprised me with many negative points that it suffers, which showed me the contours of what the final version will be like. . The title when we saw it previously in many interesting advertisements, as it seemed different to me from the version we tried.

I do not hide the feeling of having been subjected to a process of “deception” between what was shown in the past, and what I experienced in the demo version, which suffers from many technical and critical problems. And if this demo is of the final version of the game, I think it needs a general delay to fix and change many things in it.

Announcement and Demo Version

Through this topic, we will highlight the most important annoying glitches that I noticed in the PlayStation 5 version of the Forspoken demo after several hours of playing, as was the following.

Technical glitches spoil the beauty of Forspoken

  • The game's main character design was very poor, with obvious issues with facial features and lip movement.
  • Graphics that cannot be called next-gen graphics and you cannot believe that it was developed using Unreal Engine 5. Even the shadows and polygons in the game are very bad, and it lacks a lot of clarity and modern technologies.
  • The game's artificial intelligence among enemies is limited, “a clear model of primitivism and mediocrity.”

  • The movement of the main character is also plagued by many question marks, because during normal walking you feel like a robot, and during running things change differently.
  • The gameplay is very boring, there is no innovation or consistency in magic moves, combat and AoE attacks.
  • The main screen, the amount of “cliffs” you see in the menus and the color of the fonts are “visual pollution”.
  • The game's lighting with HDR technology suffers from a critical problem, so you will have difficulty seeing the main menu due to excessive lighting, and that is what we ensured by testing it on more than one screen.

  • The world design is very random, lacking much detail and vitality, discouraging exploration.
  • When you hear the heroine's dialogue in the game with someone else talking to her and directing her, it will make you want to mute the sound.
  • Even the music you hear while wandering around the game world feels like it has nothing to do with the game's atmosphere.

In any case, this experience and the “negative” points that have been brought up express only the opinion of the author. It does not necessarily represent the view of the site officially until the full version of the game is released, and certainly from my experience I expect the game to be delayed to give time to fix these issues.
