Kojima's next game, Death Stranding 2, was revealed during last week's Video Game Awards event and is being developed exclusively for the PS5.
Through the analysis we have obtained, we fully realize that the game will provide a visual experience that surpasses what impressed us with the first part, but it seems that Kojima, through the impressive studio engine Guerrilla Decima Engine, wants to raise the standards of character design and the movement system to another level, exploring the MetaHumans technology provided in the Unreal Engine.
Many of us may not have noticed this, but (via PushSquare) some sharp-eyed gamers managed to pick up on this issue through the last scene of the video, where an explanation was shown indicating the use of this technology, as you can see in the image below.
For those who don't know much about MetaHumans technology, it is a technology introduced within Unreal Engine 5 that allows developers to design realistic characters, especially when it comes to facial features and expressive movements.
What does it mean to use MetaHumans technology in Death Stranding 2?
We don't know how the Decima Engine technologies used in game development will integrate with the new Unreal Engine 5 technologies. But we believe that Sony, through its partnership with Epic, the company that owns the engine, has managed to make its studios' game engines compatible with this powerful engine.
We know that Kojima uses a motion capture system for main characters, such as Norman Reedus And theLea Seydoux in the game. Which may not require the use of such a technique. But perhaps he will resort to it when designing secondary NPC characters, and this may be an indication that we will have a large number of secondary characters in the next game compared to the first part.
It was officially announced that Death Stranding 2 is being developed exclusively for the PS5 through a wonderful cinematic presentation that appeared at the Game Awards event, but the game has not yet received any release date.
