When Dead Island 2 launched last year on PC, it was an Epic Games Store exclusive, but as the game approaches its first anniversary, that exclusivity is about to end, and the date for its arrival on Steam has now been announced.
An official page for Dead Island 2 has appeared on Steam, confirming that the game will be released on the platform on April 22, a year and a day after its official release last year. Meanwhile, the previous installment, Dead Island: Riptide, is also available for free for everyone to download on Steam and will remain free until February 15.
The game should have been released on the Steam platform earlier than we know now, but the developer has not explained the reason for this delay. In any case, the arrival of the game on Steam will be good to attract more players and benefit from cross-play with owners of the Epic Games Store version.
Dead Island 2's first expansion, titled HAUS, was released in November last year. The second expansion, titled SOLA Festival, is expected to be released in the second quarter of this year.
Dead Island 2 is available for Xbox One, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series
