Moments ago, Xbox gamers received some sad news that will be implemented in the coming weeks, as full support for CrossfireX is scheduled to be discontinued.

The team shooter CrossfireX was one of the biggest hopes for it to last for many years and be able to compete with Counter-Strike, since the game was presented by two different studios, the first and main one is Smilegate, which worked on team mode, and the second is Remedy Studio, which worked on multiplayer mode. the story.

But apparently, poor player turnout since the game's launch, along with many unresolved issues, led to the game's end of life less than a year after its official and exclusive release on the current and previous Xbox platforms. The developer ultimately described the game as not being where it should be.

The multiplayer phase will not be the only victim that will be stopped, but also the single-player phase developed by Remedy, and the decision will come into effect from May 18, 2023, and thus the CrossfireX game will completely disappear from existence.

The developer's statement provided instructions for players on the mechanism to stop the game and the method to return money, as shown below.

  • All sales on the Xbox Store will be discontinued.
  • No new content will be added to the game (such as maps, modes, camouflages, etc.).
  • Purchases made in the last 14 days from February 3, 2023, are eligible for refunds. Please submit a refund request using the following link.
  • The game servers will shut down on May 18, 2023, but until then you will be able to enjoy all previously acquired and unlocked game content.
