Modern Warfare 2 cross-play is unstoppable on PC and XBOX

Xbox and PC players have just discovered that they can't disable cross-play in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Activision's Modern Warfare 2 launches Friday morning, with PlayStation players able to toggle cross-play on or off. Xbox and PC gamers are not happy about this.

There are a few reasons why Xbox players might want to disable cross-play, such as trying to stay away from computer cheats (hackers), or simply console players being able to play with PC players when only the keyboard is pressed.

It's nothing new for COD, as Xbox players are still frustrated with forced play in Call of Duty: Warzone. There are workarounds in the Xbox system settings, but they don't always work, and Xbox players often experience long wait times to log in. Players instead of logging in like the PlayStation platform.

While players experienced a 40GB update on day one before they started playing, shortly after day one, the total size of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 increased significantly, and reportedly the data size is now around 152GB. And despite everything we've seen, we haven't seen any improvement.

Many players have contacted Activision about this forced cross-play before and the discrepancies between Xbox and PlayStation, but the company has yet to comment, but don't worry.
