Doom Eternal was subject to much controversy during its development process, sparked by heated arguments between management and the game's composer. Now, after all this time, the latter has addressed the details of these issues.

In a lengthy Medium post, composer "Gordon" offered his side of the Doom Eternal struggle. He said id Software didn't pay him half his salary for his game's soundtrack, and that executive producer Marty Stratton repeatedly abused him throughout his studio tenure, leaving him unpaid for 11 months.

The composer first mentioned his issue in 2020, when the game's soundtrack was released alongside the compiler version. Players reportedly noticed significant inconsistencies between the game's soundtrack and the same piece from the 2016 version.

Gordon He indicated that he was not responsible for the merging of the mentioned tracks. And then he left. Stratton He stated that the aforementioned composer failed to deliver his promised work on time. He concluded by stating that they would probably never work together again.

So far, we haven't seen any response from Bethesda or even Stratton himself following the composer's accusations. IGN has reached out to the company for comment, but has yet to share anything with them.

This isn't the first time we've seen behind-the-scenes workers complain. Last month, for example, a Bayonetta actress complained about her low pay. You can find more details here.
