Destiny 2 developer Bungie has officially revealed the upcoming Into the Light content for players for free, in preparation for the final expansion that will be released for the game later this year, called The Final Shape.

Last November, Bungie laid off many of its employees, which resulted in the loss of many Destiny 2 players, as the team admitted, saying that the game had become too weak.

The results that the game suffered forced the team to release a large amount of free content for the game in order to bring players back to the game in preparation for the last expansion that will be released next June of this year, which will be called The Final Forma.

The content of Into the Light will be completely free and, according to journalist Tom Warren of The Verge, this content will be released for the game on April 9th, as it will bring a huge amount of content, and it is not yet known what we will be able to see in this content.

It's worth noting that the Bungie team will be hosting an open livestream on the 19th of this month to talk more about the massive free content coming to the game and see what we can expect from that content.

Following recent layoffs at Bungie Studio following the recent layoffs at PlayStation Studios, game director Joe Blackburn announced in a tweet on Twitter his intention to leave Bungie last February, while continuing work on The Final Shape, the game's next expansion, due out in June.
