PlatinumGames' Hideki Kamiya, who currently serves as supervising director on Bayonetta Origins and Lost Demon, has posted a new report on the developer's official website, talking about the upcoming game.

Focusing on what makes Bayonetta Origins Cereza and the Lost Demon a real game, and not just a side game, Kamiya talks about how it would be a great starting point for the series, as it tells the story of a hero's beginnings. Kamiya also talks about how the upcoming game is designed to be a gentler introduction for players who may not be comfortable with the usual hardcore gameplay.

We created Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon with the hope that fans of the series thus far will enjoy this unique game and their favorite heroine, and we also strive to provide an unforgettable experience for players who may not be comfortable with heavy action games… or even players who aren’t up to speed with the Bayonetta series in the first place.

In the report in question, Kamiya also revealed that Cereza will not be the only playable character in Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon. We can play with Cheshire.. The second playable character is a demon who roams the human world.

Players will be able to combine Cheshire's abilities with Cereza's magical powers to take on challenges, and Kamiya described controlling and playing as both characters as "a truly unique experience."

As for the release date of Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon, it is set to launch exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on March 17. The last major game in the series, Bayonetta 3, was released on the Nintendo Switch in October. The game introduces new playable characters alongside Bayonetta herself, with new gameplay systems and fights with new enemies.
