Sony recently announced that it will be removing the PS Plus Collection library of games in May of this year. This means that if you are a PlayStation 5 user and have a subscription to any of the PlayStation Plus packages, you will not be able to access those games after that date.
The PS Plus Collection game library offers up to 20 different PlayStation 4 games that have been updated to work seamlessly on the PlayStation 5. However, Persona 5 was recently pulled, leaving 19 games which you can see in the list below.
- Batman: Arkham Knight
- Battlefield 1
- blood-borne
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (Zombie Chronicles Edition)
- Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
- days gone by
- Detroit: Become Human
- Fallout4
- Final Fantasy 15
- God of war
- Infamous second son
- world of monster hunters
- Mortal Kombat X
- Ratchet and Clank
- Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
- The Last Guardian
- The Last of Us Remastered
- Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
- Until dawn
Some may think that it is not important to pay attention to these titles as they are outdated compared to the titles that have started to be released recently. But there are those who do not get any more games or may find the appropriate opportunity to try some of them after having missed the opportunity the last time. Therefore, it would be a novelty for him to keep these games for the next opportunity forever without going through any trouble.
In order not to lose access to these games, you must take this step now, because after the date of next May 9th, you will not be able to access them if you do not implement this step.
Steps to Recover PS Plus Collection Games Forever
- Access the PlayStation Store on your PlayStation 5.
- Go to Collections.
- Scroll down until you find the PS Plus Collection.
- Now click on View All.
- All the games will appear for you, now do a recovery or rescue for each game separately, because after this step each game will be added to your game library for download at any time.
The good news is that after the PS Plus Collection library is removed from the store, these games will still be available to download and play at any time without any effect, as long as you refund them before the May 9th date.
Issues to watch out for
Players who previously owned any of the aforementioned games on Blu-ray Disc will see a “Purchased” message. Lost your disc or sold it? Simply delete the game and its associated license from your library and pretend you never owned it before. Once it’s removed from your system, you’ll be able to recover the game.
If you already have a PS Plus Extra/Premium subscription, do not redeem any of these games with your new subscription. Doing so will void your PS Plus Collection license, and if any of the above games leave your Extra/Premium library, you will be locked out of it forever.
If you've already redeemed them via Extra/Premium, you're out of luck until Sony fixes the licensing system issue. I just pray the games don't leave the library before Sony fixes the issue.
Keep in mind that the PS Plus Collection works like PS Plus Essential in that you'll need an active subscription to play. Those returning to the service after a hiatus will still be able to access these games, as long as they're redeemed before they expire.
