Microsoft's acquisition of Activision is still the focus of everyone's attention, followed by statements from the companies involved. One source says that Sony never sees Xbox Game Pass as a threat.

Insider Gaming sources stated that Jim RyanPlayStation's CEO has hinted that the company does not see Xbox Game Pass as a competitor. Although the company has expressed concerns about Microsoft's proposed acquisition of Activision.

A source, who asked not to be identified, said Jim Ryan had an employee Q&A session earlier this month where he talked about competition in the market. In response to a question about Game Pass, Jim said:

When we think about Game Pass, we see that its numbers are declining. We've sold more PS5s in two years than the service has accumulated subscribers, and they've been doing that for 6-7 years.

We see 50 million subscribers as not enough, and they see their 20 million as a lot, even if it's not enough. But there's more work to be done to increase that number.

Jim's comments were surprising and poignant, but expected, especially since Sony is waging a war to prevent Microsoft from acquiring Activision because it believes it harms the industry and gamers in general and eliminates competition altogether.

Sony's concerns have also led to the UK's Competition Markets Authority (CMA) investigating the acquisition, as well as the Federal Trade Commission attempting to block the deal. Although we didn't expect things to get this far.

Ultimately, the acquisition request is still pending as of this writing. But do you agree with Ryan on his observations about serving low?
