Sony admits it: Xbox Game Pass is way ahead of PS Plus.

Sony has admitted that given the number of monthly services offering multiple titles, there is no doubt that Xbox Game Pass is far superior to PS Plus.

Citing the playstationlifestyle website, Sony said that despite the reintroduction of its monthly service through the new packages, it will need a long time to compete with the Xbox monthly service.

Sony added that if the ten-year deal to keep Call of Duty games on PlayStation platforms is approved after Microsoft completes its acquisition of Activision, Microsoft will work to launch the game on Xbox Game Pass from day one, which will increase the competitive gap with the PS Plus service.

Sony also stated that Microsoft could exploit the issue in another way, one such method being licensing, where Microsoft could manipulate its licensing prices to undercut PlayStation or the PS Plus service by providing the Call of Duty game on the monthly PlayStation service at a high price, which would effectively make it exclusive to the Game Pass service. In other words, these licensing costs would force Sony to increase the subscription prices of its monthly services, which could lead to subscribers switching to a competing service.

In any case, there are many arguments used by Sony to frustrate the acquisition deal, which has not yet been concluded and continues to be investigated and monitored by several international organizations, notably European, British and American organizations.
