Thus, Rockstar officially announces the closure of the GTA: iFruit App services, which allows users to access some game settings and modifications through their smartphones.

Rockstar has announced that it will introduce an alternative method to allow users to access some of the editing features available through the app. The following was stated on the FAQ page regarding the removal of the app and the alternatives that will be available:

Why can't I access the Grand Theft Auto: iFruit app anymore?

Answer: Grand Theft Auto will no longer support iFruit as of December 12, 2022. We are currently developing a new way to allow players to customize their license plates through the GTA Online website and will provide an update when we have more information to share.

The announcement comes days after some users noticed that the app had disappeared from the Android and iOS stores in some countries. But expectations were that the app would be updated in preparation for the recently announced major winter update.

Rockstar's announcement to abandon the GTA: iFruit App, despite the game's large audience, may indicate that the application did not find the necessary popularity, while it did not provide many useful services to users who began to abandon it in recent years.

Meanwhile, Rockstar is gearing up to release a winter update called Drug Wars, the opening chapter of a new two-part expanded update.

First, you’ll head to Blaine County to meet up with the nervous Ron and meet a new group of out-of-state notaries to help them make their mark on the Los Santos drug trade. This means battling an unlikely alliance of tycoons and bikers as you try to get your goods off the ground.

Additionally, the new update introduces new businesses to run, new vehicles and missions, as well as significant updates. While Rockstar has announced that they will share more details with us later, including new events, important story, gameplay updates, and more.
