The Nightdive Studios team has published an image suggesting a remake or remaster of the classic game The Thing, released in 2002 for PlayStation 2.

The Nightdive Studios team is known among gamers as one of the most famous teams working on remakes or remasters of classic games, as their latest work was the remake of System Shock, which was released last year and received an average rating of 9 out of 10.

Through their official account on the X website, the team posted a photo and asked players to guess the name of the upcoming project, which will be announced tomorrow, Friday. It turns out the image is from 2002's The Thing, so we could be getting a remake trailer in a few hours.

The last time we heard about the game's return was through an article published on the SyFy website. Developer Cumron "Ron" Ashitanti, formerly of Rockstar and known as Ruffian Games, spoke about a game project adapted from the famous horror film The Thing, by director John Carpenter. He mentioned:

"Since The Thing is a pretty old movie now, I think the intellectual property has shifted between a few different companies. Who owns the rights to the movies, games, and everything else has gotten pretty confusing over the years. So I think getting the intellectual property rights for another game was a big challenge."

Comron He said the project had been in development since early 2000, but was unfortunately canceled due to naming rights and issues with the company that owned the film. The project then passed to the Computer Artworks team, and the game was released in 2002. Do you support its return after 22 years?
