After the disappointing and faltering performance of Gotham Knights, it looks like the course correction for publishing giant Warner Bros.' games will go down well with gamers, as developer WB Games Montréal is working on an all-new game using the Unreal Engine 5 engine.
According to the requirements of a new job ad published by developer WB Games Montreal, everything indicates that the developer's next project will be from the world of famous DC Comics heroes and will be a single-phase title, not a team one, using the new generation Unreal Engine 5.
One of the job requirements the developer was looking for was a position for a lead game programmer who would be directly responsible for expanding the DC Comics universe to work on a new game that is still shrouded in mystery until now, as the conditions for the developer for the position were knowledge and ability to work in Unreal Engine 4/5.
Not only that, producer Bryan Theberge's personal account via LinedIn confirmed that the studio had started working on a new game since late last year, specifically in December of last year, shortly after the release of Gotham Knights. Either way, it seems that the game is in its early stages of development and we'll have to wait at least a few years.
We remind our followers that Discovery and WarnerMedia, in the middle of last year, completed the long-awaited major merger of the year before last. This led to the creation of a new entity called Warner Bros Discovery. The new combined entity deal is valued at approximately $130 billion, including debt, based on an estimated valuation of WarnerMedia of over $140 billion.
This indicates, in one way or another, that the gaming department will receive more attention by supporting it with many brands, similar to the Batman game series, and it is expected that we will witness the return of the Super Man project again for a video game.
