The return of the fighting series with its new installment, Tekken 8, has been officially announced, and it still separates us from its launch by several months and, despite this, it seems that the Japanese publisher, Bandai Namco, is already planning a lot for the future of this series, as well as for other titles.
The Japanese publisher's new financial report indicates that it is already planning to work on many unannounced titles, as well as future installments of the Tekken fighting series, although the announced installment has not yet been released. This certainly indicates the publisher's confidence in the success of the next installment, and there is nothing stopping the company from thinking about the future of this old series.
What exactly awaits us is not yet directly clear, as it is only speculation through a Q&A session included in the publisher's financial report, since the seventh installment of the Tekken series was supported by many additional DLCs, but what makes us speculate that the series will continue for several more installments is the recent statements made by game producer Katsuhiro Harada.
Hadara stated in a previous statement that he has worked with the publisher on many projects beyond the Tekken 8 game, and at the same time expressed his concern about not finding enough time for all the titles he is working on and the projects the publisher is working on many, including Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon from developer From Software and Park Beyond, as well as the missing project Unknown 9: Awakening and other titles from non-Japanese studios.
Now we're curious to see what Bandai Namco might do in the future, especially after the commercial success of the adventure game One Piece Odyssey.
