EA has given a preview of what’s coming in Battlefield 2042’s fourth season, confirming that a fifth season is also coming, but it won’t include any new customers. We’ll share all the details with you below.
Battlefield 2042's fourth season is set to launch in early 2023, according to a new blog post on EA's website. The season will feature new scouts and a new battle pass, new gadgets, revamped environments, and new maps, one of which will heavily reference Battlefield 4.
The company launched Season 3 in the middle of last month, which included all the content players demanded. Titled “Escalation”. It also came with a new map called Spearhead that will take place in Swedish lands. With high-tech semi-automatic weapons manufacturing facilities.
For Season 4, developer DICE has promised that its map will be smaller, shorter, more linear, and close-range. It will also represent a change of pace compared to the sprawling environments available today.
Season 5 will offer the same amount of content as previous seasons, featuring another new map, new gear and weapons, and a new battle pass, but no new specialists.
Previous games will also be an inspiration, as Season 5 will lean into previous games and how they might play out in the world of 2042. The map will be from the Battlefield 4 era, with a shift in the storyline leading up to the events of 2042. It looks like this map will be full of vegetation and feature a mix of vehicular and infantry combat.
