Starfield will be more than just a game like Skyrim. It will offer more than just an epic RPG, according to the head of Xbox Game Studios
It will be a game Starfield Developer Bethesda's first all-new IP in 25 years, and many have assumed the idea that the developer's next title will be like The Elder Scrolls or the Fallout series, but just set in space.
With fantasy games being something Todd Howard and his team are no strangers to, it can be difficult to separate the company's previous work from this upcoming release. Matt Booty, president of XBOX Studios, insisted that Starfield would be more than just a rebuild of what the developer had worked on in the past.
When asked if the game will be “Skyrim in Space,” Booty insists that Todd Howard won’t “stand idly by” on what came before, and also adds that it would represent a step forward. Not just in terms of the visuals, which he calls “NASA punk,” but also in terms of some of the new ideas being put into practice.
Starfield has a development team twice as large as Fallout 76, and as we've seen, it's set to be one of the most epic games of this generation. Fans have seen enough of the teasers and photos, and now we're all waiting for an exact official date, but at least we know the release date, which is in the first half of 2023.
