The head of Xbox declares during a new meeting that he has no intention of playing the exclusive game if the acquisition of the Call of Duty publisher is completed.

During an exclusive interview with the Xbox On YouTube channel, he stated Phil Spencer Microsoft has no intention of offering any exclusive content for Xbox platforms if the nearly $1.4 billion acquisition deal is approved by regulators and watchdogs. And he said:

When we say it's ubiquitous or it's not going to be exclusive, we want to make the best version of Call of Duty for any player on any of these platforms.

Spencer added,I'm sitting here today while there's a big game that's come out in the last few weeks, and that's Hogwarts Legacy. And yes, there's a quest that's available exclusively on PlayStation, that's not available on Xbox platforms, and I know that's part of the industry..”

That's not how we're trying to play here with Call of Duty. It's not about how a weapon looks in a game or new gameplay. The same version of the game will be available on all platforms, which is really what we do today and will always do.

And Spencer continued a conversation about clarifying Microsoft's position, giving an example of this with the game Minecraft on PlayStation platforms, where he said: "I don't think you feel like you have the lowest version of Minecraft, Minecraft Dungeons or Legends at launch, we want to make sure that those players feel like they're enjoying the experience. Great on whatever platform they choose to play on."

Although Microsoft is trying with all its might to get the deal approved, it still faces several obstacles, most notably from European, British and American oversight committees.
