Sony has released a new marketing video for God of War Ragnarök today, but this time it's different than usual as we'll see appearances by John Travolta, Ben Stiller, LeBron James and his sons.
The three celebrities and their children used the story of Kratos and his son Atreus in the 2018 God of War segment as a springboard to talk about fatherhood in general, while Stiller himself dressed up as Kratos with a Leviathan weapon. And this heartwarming video comes just a week before the game's release date on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
In a lengthy dialogue between the three celebrities, the conversation about fatherhood in God of War lasts just three minutes, but the last moments of it are dedicated to some gameplay snippets from the game, as well as a reminder of the November 9 release date.
Regarding the video description:
What can real parents learn from the relationship between Kratos and Atreus? Whether you’re a celebrity or a dysfunctional gypsy, parenting is always a work in progress. Just ask Parent Support Group leader Ben Stiller as he explains to LeBron James, John Travolta and their kids how the father/son duo from God of War Ragnarök can inspire us all to be better parents – especially when dressed as Kratos.
Although the video tried to present the game in a comical way, it shed light on a really touching situation, which is the relationship of Kratos, who is an angry monster who does not tolerate any opponent who stands in his way, with his son and how he started to control his anger and tries to show the affectionate side in him to strengthen his relationship with his son Artis.
There is an external and an internal battle that Kratos lives silently and will continue in the next part, which will show us how far this relationship can go and where it will go in the end. We will learn all this and much more after we experience God of War Ragnarök next week.
