Veteran developer FromSoftware's upcoming game Armored Core VI got a cinematic today that highlights the game's story, which appears to be full of mystery.

The new series shows us a group of giant robots trying to penetrate a fortress and reach a target to destroy it. But during the show, what appears to be a corpse appears connected to devices that seem to control some robots and direct them to the battlefield.

The video, which you can watch below, gives us a glimpse into some story elements that weren't previously a core part of the game, but it looks like FromSoftware wants to set new standards and direction with Armored Core VI.

Through the video, it seems that the events of the game take place after the return of death, as some robots begin to activate after being exposed to the shock of the explosion, while everything turns into complete ruin and destruction, as some robots activate and one of them utters the phrase "Let's work..." When it seems that the last story of the game begins after this mysterious explosion.

The Armored Core series is a tactical mecha robot game that has always taken players on a journey through futuristic worlds where they control massive war machines known as Armored Cores. The series features extensive mech customization where players can modify the mech’s weapons, armor, systems, and skins to their liking.

The series offers a deep and complex tactical gameplay experience where players must analyze the environment, enemy strategies, and use appropriate technology to win battles. The game includes story missions and single-player challenges, as well as a multiplayer mode that allows players to compete or collaborate with each other online.

  • The sixth part of the game will be the result of 25 years of FromSoftware's knowledge and experience in developing the series and, of course, will have nothing to do with the previous parts.
  • At first glance, you will feel that the gameplay is more or less similar in “some” of its elements to the well-known “Soulslike” games, but with a different direction and flavor, but it is not a Souls game.
  • The game will focus heavily on fighting large boss battles, or “giant machines.”
  • Masaru Yamamura, Sekiro's lead designer, directed the game.
  • High priority is given to the story mode, it is a sci-fi epic centered on the resurgence of the mysterious substance called “Coral” to which organizations flock, and you, as a freelance mercenary, will infiltrate the planet Rubicon 3 to wage your epic adventure.
  • It has been confirmed on more than one occasion that there is no co-op play in Armored Core 6's story, but it will contain online multiplayer.

Armored Core VI will be released on next-gen, previous-gen, and PC platforms on August 25.
