We may have gotten some details about the next online phase, GTA Online 2, which will come with the GTA 6 game, although Rockstar hasn't revealed any details about the new game, except that it's in development, while we haven't gotten a date for the reveal or release, or even any information about the online phase.
But despite this, and through the major leaks that occurred for the new game last year, which included the emergence of more than 90 videos of an early version, some experts and leakers began to discover some new details that were not visible to us at the beginning.
The first of these details concerns the multiplayer phase, initially to be called GTA Online 2, which is expected to accompany GTA 6 when it's released in the future. Leaker Tez2, who specializes in covering Rockstar game news, posted some details he discovered about the new phase on the GTA Forums, including the number of players and their distribution.
According to the screenshots we obtained from the leaks, it appears that the game is based on the Red Dead Redemption 2 framework. This is evidenced by the fact that scenes from an earlier test version showed Arthur walking strangely in the early version. The same thing is repeated here, indicating the game's early development stages. Also, take a look at the video titled "Americas_1 2022-05-24 17-19-42" and focus on the bottom left corner, where you see "PL: 2/32." This is actually a reference to a 30-player lobby, but with two dedicated observer slots, like in GTA Online and Red Dead Online.
Next to this, you'll see "SH:PR_RSN1," which stands for host. And immediately after that, you'll find "GM H:PR_RSN1," which I think refers to the name of the session leader or host. This video clip is from May 2022. That is, last year.
Of course, all of this information should be taken with a grain of salt, as it was inferred from a preliminary version of GTA 6 and may be subject to change. Especially since Rockstar didn't address this when the leaks began to hit the internet last September, while also confirming that the game's development process and related internal dates will remain unchanged from what they were prior to the leaks.
Regardless of the source and accuracy of this information, what do you think about the maximum number of players in a lobby being 30? Do you think Rockstar should make any changes to GTA 6's multiplayer, and what changes do you want to see?
