A mod that turns GTA San Andreas into a Mad Max 2 movie that has been in production for 18 years!

Mod development wasn't new to the industry, as on October 26, 2004, creator Aaron Deneau shared on the game's forum what he intended to do for GTA San Andreas—completely transform the game. This was the day the game was first released on the PS2 platform.

The game's release on PS2 wasn't the same as the PC release, as we saw it in June of the following year. In other words, we saw Deneau's post eight months before the game was released on PC, and since then he's decided to work on a project to convert the game into Mad Max 2.

For 18 years, work has been underway on the GTA San Andreas to Mad Max 2 conversion project. Over the years, many volunteers have come to work on the mod, and many have left. During this time, one of the volunteers died in a traffic accident. Some of them lost their passion and neglected the road. The conversation then shifted from forums to Messenger.

Sadly, in 2016, after feeling desperate due to the lack of interest in the project and his own concern over his brother's cancer diagnosis, Deneau retired from working on the project entirely. But fortunately, it wasn't long before he decided to return to it.

He tirelessly continued to develop models of the vehicles and weapons from the films that shaped his appreciation for cinema for over 40 years. Within a series of games that have earned his admiration in recent years, he is determined to finish bringing Mad Max to GTA: San Andreas.

I can't think of any other way I would love to spend my life.

Anyway, if you'd like to see the rest of the project's designs, you can visit the official page, which contains most of the initial designs Deneau is working on, on the Artstation website.
