The famous director of popular horror films like Halloween, The Thing and The Fog was previously asked if he had ever considered directing a film based on the events of a game, and his response was positive. Would he be welcome to work on Dead Space?
Well-known director John Carpenter told The AV about his thoughts on directing a horror film based on the events of a video game, at which point the American director responded that it would make a great film, and he could do it, according to what he told the newspaper.
In a new interview with the same horror film director via Variety magazine, he was also asked if there was any work in the direction of Dead Space, where he responded Carpenter He was not associated with such a project in any way, but believes another director is, and continued to tell the magazine:
I'm a big fan of video games, so I've played them all.
I was looking at the new digital cameras and I mentioned to them that I would love to do a Dead Space movie, and they all said, “Oh, when are you going to do that?” I'm not going to do that.
I think they already had another manager involved in it and they didn't ask me to do it. So until someone asks me, I'm not going. But there's a new version of the Dead Space video game coming out in January, and I'm in it.
This certainly means that there has been a new movie inspired by the upcoming horror game “Dead Space Remake” in the works for some time now, and it has yet to be announced. However, we hope that the popularity of the title will be exploited in the film market, as many companies have done.
In any case, we remind our followers that there was already a film released for the horror game titled Dead Space: Downfall in early 2008, which received very positive reviews, and was written and directed by Chuck Patton. There are only a few days left until the return of the horror game in the form of a remake after ten days on all new generation devices and PC.
