Season: A Letter to the Future is finally approaching its release after several years of anticipation, and after its supposed release date was set for January 31, 2023, developer Scavengers Studio has released a new trailer that offers new details about the game's story and some of the characters the player will meet along their journey.

On the eve of a cataclysmic event that threatens to engulf the entire world, Season: A Letter to the Future sees the hero journey to a fertile valley, where his memories of himself and everything he knows will be pieced together through the documentation, photography, and recording of his life.

You’ll spend a lot of time riding your bike, but at any point as a player you can hop off and use one of several different recording tools to capture sounds, music, art like architecture, voices of elders, certain religious practices, and more. If you’re confused and need more details, check out the offering above.

There has been speculation recently that the game will be a walking simulator. But the studio believes that it has plenty of developers interested in the gameplay of this project. It said that it “wouldn’t be a walking simulator as much as I like those games without gameplay.” Time will tell exactly how the game will impact players, but for now, fans will be looking forward to the game’s laid-back atmosphere. The game will be released on January 31 on PS5 and PS4, as well as PC.
