Sony appears to be stepping up its investment in Chinese companies with some exclusive deals, and the company's approach is starting to pay off. The popular anime fan-favorite online game Genshin Impact has become a title that can be played seamlessly on both the PS5 and PS4 platforms.
The game is currently one of the biggest and most popular in the industry. Chinese developer China Hero Project's games have added significant diversity to their indie game output with F.I.S.T.: Forged in Shadow Torch coming to the fore.
These games are particularly popular with PlayStation's audience in China. According to a report from Reuters, the company will continue this growing investment and will spend more than US$140,000 on each title it acquires and adds to its Chinese library. Where Bao Bo, director of the initiative, affirmed this promise made by Sony.
Sony's project to bring Chinese games is well equipped and in stages. The next phase will be called "Season Three". The production of these games will increase much more than in the previous two seasons. One of these projects, and the most prominent of them in fact, is Lost Soul Aside, which the developer signed several years ago, but we see that it will be released before 2024.
Sony is keen to grow its fan base in the region, which is clearly lucrative. Tatsuo Eguchi, Sony's Shanghai boss, is keen to sell twice as many PS5 consoles in China.
