Within just 24 hours of launching into Early Access, the promising survival adventure game Sons of the Forest has sold over two million copies to date. It has also been a huge hit on Steam, with over 350,000 concurrent users playing at the same time.
Sons of the Forest is set on a mysterious island filled with cannibals and mutants, and the player sets out to find a missing billionaire, with their crafting and construction skills required to defend themselves against the hostile wildlife.
The game's developer, developer Endnight Games, shared the news of the game's sales via its cloud platform Twitterstressing at the same time that there are many different things that the game will gain in the near future, and the developer followed up through his report:
Thank you to everyone who joined us on the Sons of the Forest Early Access journey, we sold over 2 million copies in the first 24 hours and we’re really excited about what’s in store for players in the coming weeks.
The game that combines in its style between RPG games, where you must use the environment around you to forge weapons and build houses and walls for protection, and between survival games that require you to resist attacks from zombies and other strange creatures, some of which will attack you at night and some in broad daylight.
