Rumors are flying relentlessly, and it seems like the announcement of Final Fantasy 16's release date is getting closer than ever. Some reports have indicated that the exact release date for Square Enix's next project will likely be announced at The Game Awards, with pre-orders being revealed on the day of the reveal.

It seems to be moving into a more formal stage now. Game Awards producer and host Geoff Keighley recently tweeted on his official Twitter page and announced that during the show on December 8, Final Fantasy 16 producer Naoki Yoshida will be appearing as a host, giving a “very special performance” at the ceremony.

As expected, there were no further details on what will come during the product presentation, but a new and expanded Final Fantasy 16 reveal is expected to be shown.

Recently, game director Hiroshi Takai said that the game’s development is “about 95%” complete, and Square Enix will likely reveal its release date before the end of the year. The game is also rated in Brazil, which indicates an imminent release date announcement. Square Enix also plans to release a beta version of the game before its release, and it remains to be seen whether we’ll hear more about this title at The Game Awards or not!

Final Fantasy 16 is in development for the PS5 platform. The title will be exclusive for at least six months after launch.
