Rumor: Suicide Squad could be released next year

Following fan reaction to the latest gameplay demo at the State of Play event, we've heard some rumors that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been delayed again.

Bloomberg's Jason Schreyer was the source of some of the rumors that the title was initially delayed. But Jez Corden, who works as an editor at Windows Central, has heard from his own sources that it will be released in Q4 2023. Jeff Grob, who works at Giant Bomb, has heard that it could be released in 2024.

This time, Schreyer shared something new with us on Twitter, noting that there has been no official announcement of the delay “perhaps because there is no new date yet.” Reportedly, employees were told several weeks ago that it would be released this year, “but they still don’t know when. The title could be delayed until 2024.” According to Schreyer, one thing seems certain: the base game will not change.

It seems that the time needed for the title to become suitable is only for improvement, and not for anything else, according to rumors, if the developer really intends to release it this year. Its release in a year or more indicates the studio's response to feedback, changing the idea of the game in general and moving away from live service elements, but it's clear that the studio won't do that because its project, which it announced years ago, is almost ready, so it's illogical. The developers have a new task: to ground the game in its roots.

So far, officially.. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set to release on May 26 this year on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
