EA made headlines in recent days by announcing the discontinuation of the Project Cars series, and now it appears they're planning to cancel the Dirt series as well. This has been confirmed by one of the reliable sources.

Tom Henderson, via Insider Gaming, said his sources assured him that the cancellation of the Project Cars series is just the beginning. The company also intends to cancel the Dirt series, and in exchange, continue development on other titles, such as WRC, F1, and GRID.

EA's decision-makers are working to reduce low-return motorsport titles. This is due to the presence of multiple titles in development and, therefore, a lack of focus on them.

For example, we have the Project Cars series, the final third of which sold 85% less than the second installment. We believe the Codemasters acquisition changed many of the company's rules, as it will forever be tied to Studio Criterion.

Previously, we discussed Slightly Mad's studio manager and how he expressed his anger at EA over its cancellation decisions. Ian said the company always makes promises and fails to deliver, and this affects developers and their work.

Do you think the company's recent actions are correct? Especially regarding the cancellations and suspension of major game series like Dirt and others. Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
