With Dead Island 2 delayed into next year for a period of more than two months, the developer is ready to dedicate its time to marketing its game and giving us more information about the world, as the developer has focused on marketing just one character, Jacob, of course. Today we learn more about the characters that exist by adding two characters to the roster of playable characters.
Dead Island 2 will feature Ryan, who has special fighting and dodging skills, alongside Dani, who is known for her fierce and powerful attacks. If you didn't know, there are actually six playable survivors in total, more than the main characters from the last installment. Thanks to a new look from Game Informer, we now know two more of those characters. Here's a more detailed explanation.
Ryan finds himself in Los Angeles being stripped naked while attending a party when Ryan discovers he has been bitten, although he and the other five heroes do not transform. His main goal becomes to survive to take care of his brother. There are unique abilities for Ryan, such as obtaining a "power-up", dodging, and recovering health when fighting zombies.
Moving on to Dani, a rocker from Ireland who finds herself in Los Angeles for a tournament, she seems to thrive in the end of the world thanks to her “work to live” approach. This translates into Danny being a character who likes to survive more than he is aggressive or likes to fight, but he does attacks like explosions on impact and can recover health from quick attacks.
Dead Island 2 will be released on April 28 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC.
