We're less than three weeks away from the release of one of Capcom's most anticipated games, Resident Evil 4 Remake. We've received a lot of offers about the game, as well as a lot of information about it, and there was nothing left to do but try it out.
We've talked about eight new details and differences we'll see in Resident Evil 4 Remake that weren't present in the original version. We also know that Capcom will be making some major changes to how the game plays. But it turns out that Capcom has put a lot of effort into updating the gameplay for new and returning players alike.
One of the big changes made is the focus on Player Choice, as the developers want to give players more options when tackling some of the game's tougher encounters. In an interview with Game Informer citing The Gamer, directors Kazunori Kadoi and Yasuhiro Ampo share some of the features that made Resident Evil 4 Remake expand player choice. For example, the developers made it so that enemies would often be unaware of Leon's presence, meaning players could choose whether to engage him or try a more stealthy approach. They both continued:
“When we looked at updating RE4’s systems for the remake, one of the things we found we could improve on, in terms of mechanics, was expanding the player’s choice in how they approach things. In modern games, even in terms of combat, there’s more to it than just fighting. You can escape, you can use stealth, there’s a lot of options and there’s room for the player to explore. If something isn’t working for you, you can try a different approach.”.”
Many players are eager to try the game for a variety of reasons, and what the game's directors mentioned above is one of them. The title arrives on the 24th of this month on PlayStation for both generations, Xbox Series and PC.
