Sony is set to launch the new DualSense Edge controller for PlayStation 5, as it offers a professional way to control private games for experienced players looking for speed and precision.
However, the company has started a campaign to promote the new unit, which has started to reach some influencers to show it to their followers. Where the contents of the luxurious box that includes the new unit are displayed, along with its accessories that can be added according to the user's wishes.
However, among these additions whose functions we know, there is a mysterious piece that appeared in the box, but we have not seen it connected to the DualSense Edge controller before, so what is the secret of this strange piece? Here is the answer..
What will we have in the PS5 DualSense Edge box?
- DualSense Edge main controller.
- USB-C charging and connection cable.
- Two long joystick caps.
- Two short joystick caps.
- Two mid-height joystick covers.
- Two long rear buttons. Return to level button.
- Two half-dome rear buttons.
- Special case for transport.
- USB locker part??
Sony recently confirmed that the battery that will be used in the new console will be the same one used in the original console that came with the PlayStation 5 when you bought it. And with all these new features that the DualSense Edge unit will offer, this will affect the battery life, which will be shorter than expected.
Sure, one of the solutions provided by Sony was to add a long USB charging cable of up to 3 meters, with a layer of thick wire to prevent it from fraying with continuous use, but what about the problem of the charging cable slipping out of the console during gameplay?
Many of us might have tried using the current PlayStation 5 console by connecting it to the charging cable. If you have done so, you might have noticed that the biggest problem you have encountered is the cable slipping out of the USB port of the device during gameplay due to movement. Of course, this causes the power supply to be cut off and the console to disconnect, which hampers your gameplay.
Here, Sony wanted to eliminate this problem by placing a piece called a USB Locker. This piece that you see in the photo above will secure the charging cable with the USB port and the DualSense Edge controller.
One of the influencers who was able to test and try out the new console, reviewed the components in the box and installed it directly on the device, including the USB Locker part, as you can see in the video below.
It seems that Sony found it easier to add the supported long cable and the USB Locker closure piece than to invest in developing a new battery with a higher capacity to maintain a longer battery life.
In any case, the DualSense Edge unit for the PlayStation 5 will be released in the global market, starting from January 26th next year 2023, at a price of US$$ 200. link below.
