Earlier this year, we shared with you the announcement of a new game project from South Korean developer NCSOFT Studio, called Project “M,” a game heavily inspired by the work of French developer Quantic Dream.
Where we saw the first trailer for this upcoming project on home consoles, “Project M”, which is a working name until the game is announced more widely.
New information shared by the game developer through the “Come & Go Room” Q&A, inviting the audience to participate and discuss the ideas of the developers, who explained to us more about some of the directions of the game and the progress of the development process so far. Here are some of them.
Does Project M have a specific release date?
No, there is no release date yet.
Is what we saw a cinematic CJ show or are they graphics from the game's internal engine?
What was seen in the trailer is part of the actual content of the game, and we ensure that the clip we watched is not different from the gameplay we are looking for, so you can think of it as a trailer for our project, designed with a mix of our chosen gameplay scenes, it will be 100% cinematic.
Is it possible that there are a lot of changes that will be made before release?
Players share their feedback on what they think could be changed, as what you see in the clip is by no means the final work, as things will continue to change until release, including characters, costumes, and UI.
Will the game be based primarily on the QTE system used by games like Heavy Rain and Detroit Become Human?
Detroit: Become Human really set a new paradigm in video games, and it's one of the games that immediately comes to mind when the "interactive movie" system is mentioned. We like Detroit and people always associate our project with that, but we're going to do something original.
Is there a secret behind the project name “Project M”?
We initially called it “Project IM” to refer to our first attempt at the “interactive movie” genre and it was eventually shortened to “Project M” and War M is related to the game’s narrative.
Where will the game's events take place and the environment in which they are embedded?
Many people look forward to the fact that the location is located in Korea, specifically on Incheon Street that is associated with the narrative, where we have made a great effort to incorporate the real-life daily environment into a virtual world, and this despite the large gaps between reality and the game, but helped by scanning specifications and adjustment The levels are redesigned.
We remind our followers that the game is based on interactive events, like what we saw with the games Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human from French developer Quantic Dream. According to the developer, it will offer multiple stories and endings depending on your choices as a player, and portrays an interactive and science fiction dramatic story about a man's revenge for the death of his girlfriend.
The game is being developed using Unreal Engine 5, and based on the developer's words, it has provided advanced technological technology to the developer NCSOFT, rendering realistic graphics, cinematic production, facial expressions and expressive movements of the characters' faces.
