Phil Spencer, Microsoft's Xbox business manager, expressed admiration for the performance of the Xbox Game Pass service on the PC platform. He stated that its growth is offset by a slowdown on home platforms.

We really don't need to introduce Xbox Game Pass, or even add some great content over the years. The service does what no other service does: making great titles available from day one, letting players experience them for a very nominal amount of money.

Wsjtechlive had the opportunity to meet with Phil Spencer to discuss the service and its performance. Spencer had the following to say:

We've noticed a slowdown in the service's growth, and the reason is that it has reached all the players available to subscribe.

Indeed, the service has achieved impressive success on PC platforms. It has seen a 159 percent increase in subscribers in just one year. Furthermore, the number of people using the streaming services has reached nearly 20 million players.

It seems the PC platform isn't just appealing to gamers. Sony, on the other hand, is currently targeting the platform, having released dozens of exclusives this year and last.

The plan was always to bring PC players to the platforms, but the statistics say otherwise. The number of players on this platform has become so large that Steam has broken its own record and set another, the highest number of concurrent players. You can learn more about this record here.

In previous news, Game Pass saved Microsoft revenue by achieving very high percentages of profits, reaching US$1.4T 2.9 billion.

On the other hand, it appears that Microsoft intends to increase the prices of its devices and subscription services in the future, as Spencer hinted in another news story that you can follow the details here.
