Earlier today, an image began circulating online purporting to depict a new map coming to Warzone 2.0, and there is data attached to the image that leads us to believe that this is in fact “Rebirth Island,” redesigned and updated for the sequel.
It's worth noting that this information has yet to be confirmed, but it has been praised by insider Tom Henderson. This is usually a clear indication that the leak is somewhat reliable, but as with any gaming rumor, we'd advise against taking any of this too seriously. And if this is true, the Warzone 2.0 Rebirth map could be released in 2023, bringing back the much-loved mode that fans are already grieving the loss of.
Taken from a cod Facebook group; potentially the new CODWarzone respawn map
Rebirth Island first appeared in Call of Duty Warzone in December 2020, alongside the first season of Black Ops Cold War content. The map was a redesign of the Alcatraz map seen in Black Ops 4.
It's only been a few weeks since Warzone 2.0 launched, and there have been a number of technical issues on some platforms, from stability and connectivity issues to bugs and glitches, but Infinity Ward and Raven Software appear to be working hard to improve the overall execution. It's a case of too little, too late for some, but for the most part, Warzone 2.0 is packed with potential and new features and admittedly exciting gameplay.
There is currently no information available regarding the release date of this new map, other than its alleged name. Does this mean we will be returning to the landscapes we have seen before in the Call of Duty series?
