Ever since it was announced that Max Payne 1 & 2 remakes are in development, news about these games has completely disappeared. However, the developer, Remedy Entertainment, recently gave us some information regarding the development process and its progress.
Remedy Studio released its financial report a few days ago, which contained new information about upcoming projects. We received an update on Alan Wake 2 and Control 2 and now it's time for the remaining titles, which is the remake of Max Payne 1&2.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like much progress has been made on the new versions, but the update shows that the project is a high priority for the studio. According to the financial statement, the team stated the following:
The new Max Payne 1 and 2 games are still in the concept and construction phase. The project is progressing well. We look forward to bringing this beloved series to life for a new generation of consoles and a new generation of fans.
One positive takeaway from this statement is that Remedy seems to see these adaptations as an opportunity to revive the series. It's been over a decade since the sequel was released, but if the upcoming remakes are successful enough, it could lead to entirely new entries in the series.
It remains to be seen whether this matter will ultimately lead to a satisfactory outcome for players and fans of the series, and we also hope that the new version will bring many newcomers to the series.
We remind you that the publisher of these titles will be Rockstar. Although the development process is the responsibility of a team Remedy. In the end, let's wait and see how the studio will perfect its work on these games to witness a benign return.
