A few days separate us from the release date of the Resident Evil 4 Remake game, as we recently received a set of offers that showed us that there are many additions in the remake compared to the original version, as well as the availability of a lot of new information.
Resident Evil 4 Remake will not just be an improved version, and the mechanism adopted by Capcom in developing the game is completely different from the development of previous remake versions. The development teams have added many gameplay features, improvements and modifications, and all of them came from feedback and questions from players.
Eight new changes in Resident Evil 4 Remake:
- Avoid and block blows.
- New finishing moves.
- side quests.
- New mod features.
- Ashley won't get in the way, she'll help.
- New weapons.
- Kill stealthily.
- The way to fight bosses is different from the original version.
In this report, we will discuss with you these eight exciting details that will be present in the remake and were not present in the original version and will greatly affect the gameplay.
1- The possibility of concealment
The developers confirmed in an exclusive interview that Leon will be able to use stealth to defeat some enemies. Leon can now crouch, and if you're careful enough, you can finish off enemies by silently stabbing them from behind with a knife.
One of the enemies you’ll be able to use stealth and stealth to eliminate is the “Garador” monster, which can’t see but relies on sound to track and attack its opponent. Garador has become more ferocious and violent in Resident Evil 4 Remake, so you’ll need to be careful when facing him.
2- Avoid and repel scams
In an interview with the development team by IGN, they stated that when developing the game they didn't want to change anything about its mechanics. So, they thought that adding things to improve the gameplay experience rather than removing them was the best option, one of which was Leon's ability to dodge and block attacks.
Now Leon will be able to avoid attacks depending on the player's reaction, which must be quick, and you will also have to know the type of enemy attack and its movements. You will have another option if you are unable to dodge the attack, this option is to block the attack as a kind of last attempt before receiving it. This addition will certainly help and is a good move by the team and also a great demand from players in the past.
3- New finishing moves
The game has received many teasers previously, in which it was noted that Leon will be able to perform new finishing moves against enemies. Previously, the player performed a finishing move towards the enemy in one case, which was to aim at the enemy's face to unbalance him and then kick him, which was not fatal. Or aim at the enemy's legs and then approach him to perform the Suplex move, which sometimes finishes the opponent.
In the remix, it's a bit different and more impressive than before. Leon will be able to perform all of the above, plus all the new finishing moves. For example, by knocking any enemy to the ground, you'll be able to approach them before they get up and deliver a fatal blow with a knife, stabbing them in the head, and many other moves designed for direct confrontation with enemies.
4- Rehabilitation of “Ashley”
After finding her, Ashley follows Lyon throughout the game and it is up to the player to keep her safe from enemies while trying to escape the village.
Ashley now has new abilities in Resident Evil 4 Remake, such as the ability to unlock doors. While Leon will be able to direct her to stay close to him or back off a bit while he takes care of some enemies.
Also, one of the little things Ashley got as a sort of realism is wearing a winter jacket, since the game's events take place in the winter season and it's unrealistic to wear light clothing in such an environment, so a woolen jacket was added.
5- There are side missions scattered around
The game's developers have confirmed on more than one occasion that there are side quests in the remake for the first time, as this part was not present in the original version. In fact, as you can see in the image above, players of previous game demos have noticed what these quests look like. Where it is in the form of a blue paper and a simple puzzle that the player must solve, and this may be just one of the forms of side quests that will be present in the upcoming remake.
We can also say about this addition that it is a surprise for Capcom players, since the game has not been in development for so long just to improve its graphics, but there are many, many things added.
6- New mod features
Leon's best friend is the bag that holds all of his gear. Not only has the gear bag been brought back in the remake, but players can now customize it with different colors and also add special little touches to personalize the bag.
In the preview video we recently got, Leon can add a small chicken medallion to the corner of his bag. Still, organizing his gear in the bag with the mesh system is extremely satisfying.
7- A new weapon
Some may have figured it out, especially veterans who played the original game. In Resident Evil 4 Remake, there will be at least one new weapon, the Bolt Thrower. Its ammunition is explosive mines that can not only annihilate powerful enemies from afar, but can also be fired silently, making it a stealth weapon at least until the explosion draws attention.
8- Jack Krauser's fight is different
The new video ends with a quick look at Lyon's fight with the team's ex-girlfriend, Jack Krauser. While the battle was originally QTE-heavy in the original game, its combat is now more interactive with the abandonment of QTE moves.
In this battle, Leon will be able to use his own knife to block Krauser's blows and then launch quick counterattacks.
