Publisher Warner Bros. has made its bloody fighting game Mortal Kombat 1 available to play for free this weekend on PC and consoles.
The free trial will start today until March 10, where PC players will be able to download the game, play it and enjoy all its features. However, it will only allow you to play the first two chapters of the “single-player campaign” story mode, and the version will also give you access to all multiplayer modes. Online and local.
You may notice that Shang Tsung, Havik, and the characters included in the Kombat Pack are not available to play for free in the Mortal Kombat 1 beta, but the good news here is that the MK1 Edition recently received the long-awaited cross-play feature between PC and consoles.
All progress or saves can be transferred to the full game if you purchase it after the trial period ends, including story mode, raids, all unlocks, different currencies and trophies you have obtained.
Kombat Pack owners are expected to get their hands on the Peacemaker character this week, as the development team has revealed a new introduction for the character starring beloved fighter John Cena. There will still be more additional playable characters in the coming period. It has been hinted at more than once by the game's director that there are more fighter packs coming and the game is expected to be supported for the next two years, unlike previous installments.
