Almost two years ago, Ubisoft confirmed that The Division developer Massive Entertainment had begun work on a new Star Wars game. It appears that the aforementioned title is well along in the development process.
Ubisoft's new Star Wars game was previously said to be in an early stage of development at the time, so it's no surprise that we haven't heard much about it since. However, it does seem like they're making significant progress behind closed doors.
The Massive Entertainment team recently announced via Twitter Their search for players to test the Star Wars project. The game's test site will be located in Malmö, Sweden, where the studio is based.
The studio posted the image you see above, and stated that they are looking for players to try out the game, and that sign-ups will be open here . For those who don't know, the testing phase is an ongoing process that occurs in conjunction with development at different stages. So it's not necessarily an indication that a project is close to release, though in this case it does indicate that the studio has made enough progress to be ready to let select players get their hands on early development runs and get feedback on the level of certain items and the game as a whole.
The game will have an open world with a woven story, the company is working on the game in conjunction with other external studios. This gives us an impression of the magnitude of the project and the intensity of the focus on it.
Massive Entertainment is also working on Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which is said to be going through a turbulent development process. While Star Wars is targeting a 2025 release time.
