From Software has announced a free update for Elden Ring. The phase will bring with it PvP competitions and is believed to pave the way for the announcement of the game's first additional content.
Elden Ring has been out for over 10 months now, and ever since its release, the gaming community has been asking the development team for additional paid content. Perhaps tomorrow's free update, called Colosseum, will pave the way for the first official DLC.
The update's release tomorrow, just a day before The Game Awards 2022 kicks off, could mean there could be an announcement. Here's the statement about the free update, as quoted by IGN:
Come, warriors, and bask in the glory of the Colosseum. Limegrave, Lyndel, and Clyde Colosseums will open their doors, allowing players to engage in battles such as duels, free-for-all, and team play.
In previous news, publisher Bandai Namco revealed that the game has sold over 17.5 million copies worldwide. These numbers were achieved by the game since its release earlier this year until the end of last September.
These figures were revealed during a Q&A with investors within the company. With the game reaching over 17.5 million copies sold globally, it has earned the title of the fastest game to reach over 10 million copies in sales this year among other competing games.
Imagine the game selling another million copies in three months, since last June it sold 16.5 million copies. This was the goal of the president of Bandai Namco when he stated that he wanted to introduce the game into the home of every gamer, or as mentioned by Eurogamer.
