After EA announced yesterday that it had completely stopped the Project Cars series, including canceling the development of the fourth installment, the director of the Slightly Mad studio came out to express his anger at this act, attacking the aforementioned company.

Ian Bell The studio director of Slightly Mad, developer of the Project Cars series, who left in 2021, came out with his opinion after EA's decision. The company announced the discontinuation of the series due to low returns and the difficulty of focusing on more than one racing title at the same time.

Through your account on the website TwitterSpeaking about EA's irregularities and decisions, Ian said the following:

EA, we continue to be great… I said that and I stand by every word as they continue to prove it. I don’t know how this decision will affect everyone who worked on the game.

Ian has a long history with the company, attacking and criticizing its actions. In 2017, he received an offer from the company on the condition that he remain silent and followed up:

We made a game called Need for Speed: Shift, and a game called Shift 2. EA came to me and said two months after Shift 2, we can give you 1.5 million if you agree not to talk to any other publishers.

Well, I said, that sounds like a good deal. I took 1.5 million, paid a bunch of bonuses, and two weeks before the third part was scheduled to start development, they canceled it without warning. They said, “We’re not doing this anymore.”

The developer's goal in making these statements against the company was to prove their failure to fulfill their promises. It could also mean the promise you made to the developers to work on the canceled 4th part of Project Cars.

In the end, each company has its own reasons for canceling a particular title. Indeed, the series has been weak in front of other titles. For example, we have Dirt, NFS, rally games, Gran Turismo, Forza and many more.
