Fortnite developer gains a powerful ally in its fight against Apple.

It seems that Epic, the developer of Fortnite, has found a strong ally in its war against Apple. The famous billionaire Elon Musk, a few days ago, launched a strong campaign against the iPhone owner through his Twitter account, criticizing developers and publishers for paying 30% in Apple Store fees.
With this step, both Twitter, which now belongs to Musk, and Spotify, which recently joined the team against Apple, are on Epic's side.
According to Reuters, Musk, through a series of tweets, criticized the unfair fees that Apple charges publishers through in-game sales and apps sold on the App Store. Which amounts to 30% of the sales value.
He added that he was ready to go to open war with Apple to respond to these taxes, which he described as undeserved. Noting that he had already received a threat to block the Twitter app from Apple's App Store without explaining the reasons.
It is worth noting that Spotify had already filed a lawsuit against Apple, and Epic, owner of the game Fortnite, had already filed a lawsuit against Apple because of a 30% discount on in-game purchases.
This epic move has caused the Fortnite game to be banned from the Apple Store since 2019, as the game has been blocked for millions of users to this day.
The European Commission has launched an investigation into whether Apple's terms for app developers violate its rules after Spotify filed an antitrust lawsuit against Apple in 2019.
Analysts have said that Apple may now be playing with fire by threatening to ban Twitter from its App Store. Since if Twitter's lawsuit against Apple is launched, another lawsuit could be in the works. We saw Musk use the courts professionally during his Twitter acquisition and it wouldn't be surprising if he follows the same strategy now.
On the other hand, some other analysts believe that Musk wants to start a fierce war between developers and Apple to get some benefits from it. However, these analysts believe that this battle, if started, will return its negative effects on the Twitter platform. Since social media platforms are so many and widespread, iPhone users will not give up their precious device for the sake of a single social media platform.
As the open battle continues, the Fortnite game and the gaming community on Apple platforms continue to be the first and last casualty of this war that will not end anytime soon.
