While Capcom puts a significant portion of its annual budget into re-releases of Resident Evil games, hopes of seeing a Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake appear to be fading, at least for now.
With the release of the second, third and fourth remakes, while the company continues to release sequels to the series through the seventh and eighth installments, now is the time to jump into Code Veronica, which takes us on a side trip with Claire and Chris Redfield to Rockfort Island. But it seems that it is not quite like that.
Through an exclusive interview that the Noisy Pixel website had with Yoshiaki Hirabayashi Resident Evil 4 Remake producer has confirmed that Capcom has no current plans to re-release Code Veronica as an enhanced version.
Despite this, it remains subject to Capcom's priorities, according to Hirabayashi's statements for the next period, but in the meantime, he doesn't expect to re-release the game any time soon.
Once Capcom reaches this phase of re-releasing its titles, which has now reached the fourth part, we do not expect to get a reissue of the fifth and sixth parts of the series. Therefore, we expect there to be a transition to return with a new series like Dino Crisis or Onimusha, where there are continuous and urgent demands to return to these series and reissue them with Remake copies, as happened with the Resident Evil series.
In the meantime, until Capcom makes a decision, would you prefer Capcom to re-release Resident Evil Code: Veronica with a Remake version or move on to other classic games like Dino Crisis or Onimusha?
