The aforementioned part will be full of excitement and action in terms of movement and activity, and will have new features that will be the first of its kind in the history of the series.

We at VGA4A had the honor of participating in a special event through an invitation sent to us by Activision a few days ago, where the game Crash Team Rumble was presented with a brief presentation that gave us a glimpse of what can be tested and much more that we can mention to you below. This multiplayer strategy game combines the freeform platforming of the main Crash Bandicoot games with the chaos of battling for Wumpa Fruits.

At the same time, we also managed to get a detailed overview of what to expect from the action-adventure game Crash Team Rumble when it launches in late 2023. In this report, we'll share with you everything we learned during the special event.

Crash Team Rumble Gameplay

Crash Team Rumble is a win-win multiplayer strategy gameA 4v4 team battle where players must fight across different maps and collect Wumpa Fruits to fill a certain meter. The team that fills the meter the fastest is declared the winner. It is mentioned that the path is not easy as players can attack each other along the way, use environmental features to cause chaos, and influence each other.

There are three basic tactics that players can follow to succeed in Crash Team Rumble rounds and they are as follows.

  • Collect as many Wamba fruits as possible.
  • Get “Gem Pads” to secure the Wumpa bonus.
  • Activate Relic Stations to gain extra abilities.

Apart from all this, there are more gameplay features that we will learn later in upcoming offerings in the future.

Maps

Crash Team Rumble will feature a set of distinct maps at launch, with more to be added in the future. The maps that will be available are as follows:

  • Just Beachy: A tropical island surrounded by water, filled with gem stations and plenty of opportunities to eliminate enemies by drowning.
  • Calamity Canyon: A gigantic stage with three gem stations and a steep drop into a chasm for unwary players. This stage contains the nitrous oxide waste station.
  • Tiki Towers Map: A scattershot level inspired by the classic Crash game. This stage contains the Oka Oka Relic Station.

Characters and skills:

So far, only a handful of Crash Team Rumble playable characters have been revealed. This list includes Coco Bandicoot Taunt Bandicoot Dingodale as the mysterious bat figure seen alongside villain N. Brio. But Toys for Bob has yet to reveal anything else about any of the other characters.

Activision also provided some additional details about the game itself. Characters will fall into one of three categories which are Blocker, Booster, or Scorer. These classes will have unique abilities to help their teammates get as many Wumpa fruits as possible.
