Radical changes in Resident Evil 4 Remake will inevitably affect the experience.

Resident Evil 4 Remake will undergo major and extensive changes to make the experience fresh for new and returning players. However, the game will preserve the essence of the original events and story, but how can this be done?

The new game will be handled by exploiting the capabilities of new-generation hardware and modern graphics cards. This will allow the developer to make the game world denser and contain many details, but also these new technical capabilities will allow us to expand the experience and make it more lively, as we will see in these three elements that we will talk about in this report.

Messages turned into scenes

From what we've seen in the game's demos so far, it seems that some of the messages that took us a while to find and read have been turned into in-game movie scenes. As of yet, we can't be sure that all of these messages have been converted into scenes, but Ada Wang's message about Chairman Ashley's daughter that we found in the Old Castle Ruins area has been converted into a movie scene, and it looks like it will make for a better experience and provide more detail.

While the idea seems interesting, we also see that searching for and reading such messages and trying to solve them could give the Resident Evil series its own identity, so we hope that not all of the game's messages are treated this way.

Unlocked locked areas in the game world

Yes, there are some areas that were closed off if you were walking around in the original Resident Evil 4 game, as it is believed that they were removed due to time and the limited technical capabilities of home consoles at the time. But in the upcoming remake, some new roads have been opened and these removed areas have been added to the game to be explorable and we can experience some critical moments in it.

The game also uses One Shot technology, which will make us not see many loading screens, and this will make roaming in the game world smooth and continuous, without interruptions to the atmosphere of excitement and anticipation.

Communications in the command center have become vital

Those who have played the original game will remember how “Leon” communicated with the command center, where the scene appeared as a radio communication, like in the classic Metal Gear games. But now it has become more animated and the communication scenes have been transformed to become fully cinematic with many details in the character designs and dialogues.

Additionally, Leon will now use pseudonyms as a sort of confidentiality in communicating with the command center, such as “Roost” for the client being contacted, “Baby Eagle” for the president’s daughter, and so on.

These are some of the things we have been able to monitor only through the offers of the Resident Evil 4 Remake game that we have been able to get so far, and this does not mean that it is an inventory of all the changes, but it is a small sample of what we can see in the game in its full version and we hope that more of them will be revealed in the future and as the launch approaches.

Resident Evil 4 Remake will be released on the new generation PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC on March 23, 2023.
