As is customary for any new sequel in the Call of Duty series, Modern Warfare 2 has dominated sales since its release late last month in the UK, alongside notable success across Europe.
GSD told us in October 2022 sales data that Modern Warfare 2 and FIFA 23 saw game sales increase by 1.5% compared to October 2021. GamesIndustry agreed, revealing a huge increase in first-week sales over previous game Call of Duty: Vanguard during the same month in 2021.
Not only did Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 do this, but within two weeks it was close to outselling the entirety of Call of Duty: Vanguard (from launch to now). The game is the third best-selling game of 2022, coming after Elden Ring and the beloved European sports game FIFA 23.
We can see Gotham Knights in fourth place, which was released around the same time as Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. On the other hand, the game saw a drop of 13% in the galactic protectors in two weeks. The presence of Nintendo games is inevitable as we see Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope in fifth place. I won’t bore you much and here is the full list below.
