Interesting information and data continues to emerge from the lengthy 111-page document that Microsoft submitted to the UK Competition and Antitrust Authority (CMA).
The authority is evaluating Microsoft's proposed acquisition of publisher Activision Blizzard. Where it is subject to deep scrutiny due to fears that this acquisition will affect competition and, of course, these concerns are fueled by Sony, which is trying to obstruct this deal by all means and legal means available.
Some of the interesting information that was found in the documents sent by Microsoft is a study conducted by the company for gamers who own more than one home console “Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation”, which the company’s research showed that 60 to 70 percent of those who had surgery. The respondents preferred to play on the PlayStation platform over the other platforms mentioned. Where it mentioned:
As part of a survey, Microsoft asked gamers which of their favorite consoles they play on. In general, multi-console gamers report that they prefer PlayStation over Xbox.
This data is an attempt by Microsoft to prove Sony's superiority more than the reality. Yes, Sony is superior, but that doesn't make it the way Microsoft is trying to show it. However, we know in the end that both companies are trying their best to win over regulators in the possible deal. We certainly haven't forgotten that Sony said in its statement that Game Pass far outperforms PlayStation Plus.
