We're approaching the midpoint of the home console generation. And it appears Microsoft is secretly working on an improved version, which could be an enhanced Xbox "Pro" or "Elite" console.

This information is brought to us by broadcaster and host Jez Corden in a new episode of The Xbox Two Podcast. It's also being released on the Windows Central website. In the latest episode, he revealed that he had information from inside sources that Microsoft is working on a new Xbox console.

Insider Corden confirmed that he's familiar with the cryptic names of the new consoles Microsoft is working on. He emphasized that these will be mid-range consoles, not a whole new generation. And here, it's likely a new, enhanced device, like the "Xbox Series X Pro," for example.

According to the journalist, the launch of new home consoles shouldn't be expected before the end of next year, 2023. This information was based on his statements in episode 240 of the Xbox Two podcast, in which he addressed several other industry topics.

In any case. It's not excluded that this will happen late next year, or it could be early 2024. We're already approaching the half-life of current consoles, whether the PlayStation 5 or the Xbox Series X/S.
